Just what millions of Edison fans have been waiting for...our STADIUM CHAIR FUNDRAISER is here!
Attached is an order form for your wrestler (okay, most likely you) to get filled out.

These chairs are a HOT ITEM, especially with football season in full swing, so if you are trying to get chairs for your wrestling family, you might want to order those and turn in the payment for them right away. We have several chairs already on hand, with additional ones to be ordered. First come, first served! Please e-mail me if you want to get your own chairs right away, and I will help coordinate that with Nanette.

The chairs are $50 each, which is a good price for these high-quality chairs...heck, an Edison sweatshirt will cost you $40, so it's really a bargain!

Nanette Zumwalt did an excellent job of getting these chairs for us and working with the vendor to get them to us quickly, so we'd like to send an extra special "Thank You" out to her for all her hard work! You rock, Nanette!

What to bring: Checkbook for dues/transportation fees ~
Season dues - $350 (includes 5 Charger cards)
Transportation fee - $100

Another important date...

Who: ALL Wrestlers - We have been INVITED to attend this event

What: Free Wrestling Clinic and Watch Santa Ana vs. Cerritos

When: Wednesday, Oct. 29th

Where: Santa Ana College (parents must arrange transportation)

Time: 5:00 pm (be there BY 5:00 pm)

What to bring: Clothes/gear to practice wrestling
Change of clothes

Details: Coach Luis wants all wrestlers to attend this event at Santa Ana College, as we have been invited along with other high school wrestlers. He is aware that it is late for a school night, so Coach Luis will not have practice that day so the wrestlers can have time to get their homework completed prior to the event. Wrestlers will participate in a clinic prior to watching the wrestling matches between Santa Ana and Cerritos, and will be able to shower at the locker rooms there.

Please note that it is highly important to support local wrestling programs in the community, as we often do with Santa Ana College, since lack of support is leading to many wrestling programs being eliminated from schools. Our continued support of wrestling programs locally will help to keep a place for our boys on the mat, through high school and beyond.

Hi Everybody!

I just wanted to share some of the photos I have from Saturday and say thank
you again to all who stepped up to the "hair challenge" and helped surpass
the $1000 donation we were aiming for! I'm not sure of a final figure yet
since there are still checks coming in the mail, but I know that by Friday
afternoon, you all helped bring the total to $1775, just from what we were
tracking over e-mail. Saturday's donations were tremendous, and it was just
amazing to see everyone come together like that for Luke and his family.

Please enjoy the photos from the event--these are just the ones I took, so
I'm sure there are a bunch more out there that will be passed along, as
well.

Just a thought and a suggestion...

It is an extremely good idea to WEIGH IN ON FRIDAY NIGHT!!!

This is a HUGE tournament ~ schools from all over California and surrounding states come in for this tournament, so they will more than likely weigh in on Saturday morning. Also, our boys can get extra sleep and eat sooner in the a.m. if they weigh in on Friday.

This is a long day, but it's important that the wrestlers stay to watch and support their teammates. The temptation to leave as soon as they are finished will be great, so we really need parents to support them staying. Although it makes for a truly long and tiring day, it sparks something in them when they see how good some of these wrestlers are-many that are there will be State champions/contenders and if they pay attention they can pick up some pointers by just watching.

We are very lucky to have some of the best wrestling in California right in our backyard, we don't have to travel 600 miles to compete in a quality tournament, so we have to take advantage of every opportunity we can get. You can go to the park and practice aspects of football, baseball, basketball, but you can't practice any aspect of wrestling without a gym/ tournament.

This DOES ESTABLISH THEIR RANKING GOING INTO SEASON! That's why so many schools participate-it helps in getting them the sweet spots (byes) in the brackets for the tournaments. (Seeding - A whole 'nother aspect to this 'rastlin' thing).

USA Wrestling is a sports organization that allows you to gain great experience in both pre-season and post-season events. This organization provides a vast array of information to the wrestling world. You will also be placed on a mailing list and receive an official magazine subscription to the USA Wrestler.
