Hello Everyone,

This is to update you on the Edison Summer Camp Details. Today I spoke with the new Atheltic Director, Mr. Boyce about the wrestling summer camp. Each Wrestler will be required to have a physical and a emergency card to attend the camp. These forms can be found on the Edison Website under the Athletics Tab, then the Summer Camp tab. The Coaches will be Chris Schlanko and Quentin Schoonmaker and overseen by Mr. Boyce, until the new wrestling coach is hired.

Dates: June 21st thru July 24th
Time: 5:00pm to 7:30 pm
Location: Edison Wrestling Room
Cost: $275.00 - Make checks payable to EHS Wrestling (no refunds)
Please make sure that the checks are given to Mr. Boyce, you can either drop it off in the office or have your wrestler give it to Chris or Quentin to pass to Mr. Boyce.

It is very important that the wrestler has the physical prior to camp or they will not be able to practice. If you had your physical on May 22nd then please turn that into Mr. Boyce.

If you have not been informed, Coach Renteria has resigned as the Head Wrestling Coach. He resigned due to his own personal reasons. With that being said, the Booster Board wanted to let everyone know that wrestling practice will end on Friday, May 27th. Starting Tuesday, June 1st your son will need to sign into PE class and stay and participate.
Wrestling Camp is still on. The EHS Administration is actively seeking a new Head Coach and hopes to have a new coach hired in the near future. The hope is that the new coach can start and participate in the summer camp. Quinton and Chris will remain assistant coaches and will be running the summer camp if the new coach has not started. The dates of the summer camp will remain the same,however the time may change. I understand the camp may take place in the morning instead of the afternoon to evening time. You can download the Physical Form and the Emergency Card from the school's website or both can be picked up in the Financial Office at EHS. Please remember your child's physical has to be done and Emergency card completed before he can participate in the camp.
The Booster Board is looking forward to an exciting 2010-2011 wrestling season. If you have an ideas please share them. We welcome any ideas for fundraising or anything else that benefits our wrestlers.

This is to clarify the location for the tournament for Varsity wrestlers on Friday 1/8 and Saturday 1/9.

Location:

• Godinez High School (Click Here for Interactive Map)
  3002 Centennial Rd
  Santa Ana, CA 92704

Friday departure: After school about 1:30pm
Friday return - after tournament about 7:30 pm

Saturday departure: Leave about 6:30 am from Edison High School.
Saturday return - after tournament about 7:00 pm.

On the schedule I listed the event at Santa Ana High School which is incorrect. Santa Ana will be running the event at Godinez High School. Sorry for the confusion.

FRESHMAN SCHEDULE
9:00 am to 11:00 am - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
Days off- Thursday and Friday

VARISITY SCHEDULE
10:00 am - 12:00 pm - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
4:00 pm - 5:30 pm - Varisty wrestler's MUST return for the second practice - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
Days off - Thursday and Friday

If your wrestler is not going to participate you must let Coach Luis know.

Just a quick update, I spoke with Coach this evening and at the Wednesday wrestling meet only the Freshman, Sophmores and Varisty will be wrestling. The Coach at Mission Hills does not have any JV wrestlers.

Just a quick reminder that on Wednesday Dec.16th we will be hosting Mission Viejo at Edison. It will be all levels wrestling and the event will start after school is out. They will weigh in and then the event should start around 4:00 ish. If it changes I will let you know.

Hello Folks,

We would like to Thank everyone for volunteering for the Beach Bash. It was a success and without the volunteers we couldn't have done it without you! It was the best beach bash ever, we had compliments from the Coaches and Referees on how well organized and hospitable our Edison Team was. A special Thanks goes out to Ramona Havilcheck for coordinating the snack bar, she did a awesome job! Also, thanks goes to Sophia Merrill for the great podium that her father built for this event. It was nice to see Westin on the # 1 spot!! Our wrestlers gave their best effort and congrats goes to everyone of them! Lastly, thanks to the freshman wrestler's that worked the tables and helped setup and take down everything for the bash. We look forward to a great wrestling season and thanks again for everyones hard work at the beach bash.

Hello,

On Thursday Dec 10th at 5:00 pm all the wrestlers will need to help set up the mats for the Beach Bash. Coach Luis has said this is mandatory for the wrestlers to help with this big project.

Also,to clarify the Freshman wrestlers during the Beach Bash event will be working the tables, Coach Luis will give the boys the instructions. They are expected to work both days.
